MMR’s Caroline Weekend April 2 – April 5 2010

For the fans of historic Caroline, this looks interesting:

From http://www.janfrevos.nl/

MMR’s Caroline Weekend April 2 – April 5 2010

This easter exactly 46 years ago Radio Caroline started broadcasting
from the MV Caroline anchored in the Thames Estuary. Internetradio
station MMR (More Music Radio) likes to commemorate this with a
four-days lasting program, starting Good Friday April 2nd. It kicks off
at 6 am (CET) and brings you an overview of Radio Caroline from the very
first day at sea in 1964 until the last program in international waters
in 1990.
Every day, from 06:00 until midnight old Caroline shows will be
re-broadcasted starting in 1964 on April 2nd and finishing Easter Monday
in 1990.
The other six hours MMR brings you her normal programs containing
nonstop oldies.

Full schedule on the MMR url given above.

2010 Pirate Radio Annual

The “2010 Pirate Radio Annual” is at the printer and being finished. It should be available within 3-4 weeks, but I’m now taking pre-orders. It is:
* 126 pages
* perfect bound with full-color cover
* with audio CD-R

It profiles 166 different shortwave pirates, programs, and relayed stations that were heard in 2009. Other features are profiles of the 10 best-heard European shortwave pirates in North America in 2009, plus information for beginners on tuning pirates and shortwave radio.

Price is $17 ($15 + $2 shipping) in the U.S. Sorry, I’m not sure how much shipping will be to Canada & the rest of the world, so I’m not taking advance orders from these areas until the books come in and I can weigh them.

You can send checks or money orders to:

Cabinet Communications
POB 109
BRS, PA 17214

Or if you’re a 21st-century kind of person, you may send $17 via PayPal to info@hobbybroadcasting.com. If you take this route, please also e-mail me so that I’m aware of the transaction.

International costs for “Pirate Radio Annual”

Just had the proof copy weighed at the post office. Here are the international costs for the 2010 PRA:

$4 shipping to Canada ($15 + 4 = $19 total)
$9 shipping anywhere outside of North America ($15 + $9 = $24)
