Pirate radio conference

“Congratulations to Nick Catford, a founding member of Radio Jackie, on being awarded the first Golden 807 Award for Lifetime Service to Pirate Radio. Nick’s keynote talk on the early years of Radio Jackie and landbased pirate radio in the UK topped off an excellent day of the first landbased pirate radio academic conference Signals From The Edge at the University of Bedfordshire in Luton on Saturday 1st March organised by Lawrie Hallett, Mark Wakely and myself (Mark Dezzani). We had talks from Poland, Switzerland (Daniel Goldman), Ireland, Greece and of course the UK. Thank you to all who participated and supported the event and helped to make it a great success. Thank you also to My-Key Vessel Georgeson who designed the award.”

Radio Igloo 1 March 2025

This coming weekend, February 28-March 3, the West Coast DX-Club in Gothenburg will have a listening weekend in a cabin in the woods 25 km north of Gothenburg.
We usually produce a new Igloo programme every time we have a listening camp, but this time it will be a favourite in rerun.
On Saturday 1st March at 22.00 CET (2100 UTC) we will broadcast a rerun of the very first Radio Igloo programme, first aired in September 2018.
The programme will be broadcast on 1629 kHz, or on a free frequency nearby.
