Radio Day 2014

In March 2014, it will be exactly 50 years ago that Radio Caroline started its transmissions from the MV Fredericia off the British coast. And beyond that it will be 40 years ago that Radio Veronica and Radio Nordsee International as the most prominent watery wireless stations off the Dutch coast had to close down. This is the reason why we thought that the Radio Day 2014 must become an even bigger event than usual.

The Radio Day 2014 will take place on Saturday 22nd March 2014 (take notice of the amended date) in Hotel Casa 400 in Amsterdam, Eerste Ringdijkstraat 4. Doors will be open from 10:00h CET. The Radio Day will take place from 10:30 to 18:00h CET. Admission is € 15,-. There’s no need to order a ticket in advance.

Vanaf 10.00 uur in de ochtend zal de zaal open zijn. De Radio Day zal om 10.30 uur beginnen en om 18.00 uur eindigen. Toegang is 15,- €. Het is niet nodig een ticket vooruit te bestellen of te reserveren.

Ook dit jaar bestaat weer de mogelijkheid donateur van de Stichting Media Communicatie te worden door 14 Euro over te maken naar:

Voor dit bedrag ontvang je gratis toegang tot de digitale editie van het Freewave Media Magazine tot en met februari 2014; ontvang je het digitale boek dat je een halve eeuw terug brengt in de tijd naar het jaar 1964, geschreven door Hans Knot. Dit boek zal in het begin van de zomer van 2014 verschijnen.

Tevens krijg je een donateurskaart op naam toegestuurd, die tevens geldt als toegangsbewijs voor de RadioDay op 22 maart 2014 in Casa 400 te Amsterdam.

Ankündigung: FM Kompakt Radiotage 2014

Nun ist`s offiziell: Das nächste FMK-Treffen findet in Südtirol statt. Seit Jahren wurde immer wieder der Wunsch einer “Radio-Tour” nach Südtirol laut. Ich habe meinen diesjährigen Urlaub nach Südtirol damit verbunden, um die ersten Details zu vereinbaren: Das Treffen findet vom Samstag, den 10.5. bis (mindestens) Montag, den 12.5.14 statt. Wir sind bei der RAS durch den Direktor, Hr. Plattner, eingeladen. Eine Studiotour beim RAI Sender Bozen ist zugesagt. Ausserdem werden wir einige Privatsender besuchen. Herzlich willkommen sind wir dabei u.a. bei Radiopionier Walter Wiedenhofer und seinem Radio Sunshine. Ein DX-Mittag ist vorgesehen, sowie die Besichtigung einer RAS-Sendeanlage !!! Angedacht ist u.a. auch, ein “Ehemaligen-Treffen”, der einstigen Südtiroler Radiopioniere…..
Die Teilnehmerzahl ist auf 20 Personen begrenzt. At this event is also a auction whit old equipment and parts ,for radio transmitting etc.
At saturday the 17 of august takes the auction place at around 15:30 HR
The auctioneer takes the goods in from 12:00 HR till 15 min before auction start.
You need identification on you , each lot have a number of the person that give the goods in.
Also bidders cane get a bidding lot at the auctioneer.
Also you can reed at the front of the auction tables the rules.

An diesem Samstag hat Europas freie Radioszene wieder ihren Treffpunkt: Die Veranstaltung findet von 13.00 Uhr bis 19.00 Uhr im Observatorium der Sternwarte Neanderhöhe SNH ,Sternwartenweg , in 40699 Erkrath statt. Einlass ist ab 12.00 Uhr.

Unser Ehrengast ist Marc Jacobs, bekannt durch seine Zeit als DJ auf der
MV Mi Amigo (Radio Mi Amigo). Das Interview führt Ferry Eden.

OffshoreRadio und ShowBiz : Chet Reuter erzählt die spannende Geschichte von Radio City , die mit der Kaperung des Senders und dem Tod von Reg Calvert entscheidend die britische Gesetzgebung gegen die Sender beeinflusst hatte.

Nick Barker (Radio Marabu) war lange Jahre Techniker beim BFBS in Köln und London . Ein Blick hinter die Kulissen.

Wie immer sind auch diesmal DJs von Radio Marabu und vom RNI-Webradio bei uns vor Ort.

Veranstaltungsort:
Vom Düsseldorfer Hauptbahnhof aus fährt man mit der S -Bahn Linie S 8 in Richtung Hagen Wuppertal bis Haltepunkt Hochdahl-Millrath, geht dann in Fahrtrichtung an der Landstraße bis zum Hausmannsweg. An diesem liegt nach ein paar hundert Metern das Observatorium. Die Anfahrt mit dem Auto ab der Autobahn Abfahrt Haan-West der A 46 ist im Ort Erkrath ausgeschildert.

Der Eintritt beträgt 12.- EURO incl. Begrüssungsdrink.

On Saturday 7th September 2013, we organise the annual meeting for radio makers and listeners for the 13th time in the rooms of the observatory Sternwarte Neanderhöhe , Sternwartenweg , D-40699 Erkrath. The event is scheduled from 13.00 to 19.00 hours EST, entrance is from 12.00 o’clock EST.

Our special guest this year is Marc Jacobs , well know from his time on the
MV Mi Amigo (Radio Mi Amigo). The interview will be done by Ferry Eden.

OffshoreRadio and ShowBiz : Chet Reuter tells the story of Radio City , whose raid and the death of Reg Calvert was a basic influence on the establishing of the british MOA.

Nick Barker (Radio Marabu) was an engineer at BFBS Cologne and London . Have a look behind the walls of that station.

As always the DJs of Radio Marabu and RNI Webradio will be here.

The location:

From Düsseldorf railway station one can get there by train S 8, direction Wuppertal/Hagen. You leave at stop Hochdahl-Millrath and walk the road in direction of the train to small way. on right hand named Hausmannsweg. After a few hundred meters you see the observatory.

By car you leave Autobahn A 46 at exit Haan West to Erkrath, in the town the way is marked ‘Observatorium’.
The entrance fee is 12.- EURO including a welcome drink.
