monitored throughout 2019, will be attached free to all copies of the
2019/2020 Guide to Utility Radio Stations sold after 1 January 2020.
Those customers that did acquire the 2019/2020 Guide to Utility Radio
Stations before that date may download the pertinent .PDF file free
from our website, after 1 January 2020.

HF is dead! Really? We’ve been told so … for 52 years ;-))) Anyway,
the brandnew HFDL station in South Korea is extremely busy – 24/7 on
8 frequencies – since 27 March 2019 … More than 800 new digital
data decoder screenshots will be published on our 2020 Super
Frequency List on CD … To be continued!

Radio Festival

die heutige Ausgabe der Bremerhavener Nordsee-Zeitung kündigt für kommendes Wochenende ein dreitägiges Radio Festival im Deutschen Schifffahrtsmuseum (DSM) am Hans-Scharoun-Platz 1, in 27568 Bremerhaven an.

Die Öffnungszeiten: Fr. 20.9. 1700 – 2200 Uhr,
Sa. 21.9. 1500 – 2200 Uhr,
So. 22.9. 1000 – 1500 Uhr.

Im Zeitungstext heißt es u. A.:

Vor 100 Jahren veränderte der Radioapparat die gesellschaftlichen Beziehungen in der Welt. Im Zeitalter von Digitalität und Datenströmen über Netzwerke ist das Projekt Radio eine Zeitreise in die Geburtsphase des elektronischen Musikzeitalters. Ob Hommage oder Geburtstagsparty: Zeit sich mit den Anfängen des Funkens und seiner Ideenwelten zu beschäftigen. Tests from Hörby Mellanvåg 1179 kHz has just begun with 2,5 Watts ERP
from a vertical ant. Think they are broadcasting their endless tape of
music and info 24 hrs. Expect them to carry on transmissions for 2-3 weeks.

Totsuka DXer’s Circle (TDXC) has published its annual report “PROPAGATION” on July 30. Most of the articles are written in Japanese, but you can imagine what is written about because of a lot of pictures in each column. Some articles are written in English too. TDXC is trying to increase articles written in English.

I had a chance to translate a paper “The 160-Meter Band: An Enigma Shrouded in Mystery” written by Cary Oler, and Dr. Theodore J. Cohen, N4XX into Japanese in this report. This article would be helpful for MW DXing.

You can see how Japanese DXers enjoy many kinds of DXing here in Japan. It might be interesting to compare with your DXing activities with ours.
