Radio Nord 8 March 2011

We just got the confirmation from The Swedish Post and Telecom Agency (PTS)that our application for MW 1512 kHz and SW 6060 kHz has been approved. On March 8 at 0848 UTC/GMT (0948 CET) we will start by broadcasting the opening of offshore station Radio Nord just as it was aired on this date in 1961. We will also make some short test transmissions on these frequencies before our regular programme starts. Power will be 1 kW on 1512 kHz and 10 kW on 6060kHz. The MW tx is located at Kvarnberget, Vallentuna some 35 km from Stockholm city and the SW tx outside the town of Sala.

If you catch our signal please comment in our blog http://www.radionordrevival.blogspot.com and let us know how well you can hear us in your area. QSL cards will be available later. (Ronny Forslund, ARC/Radio Nord Revival, March 3, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

FRS Holland 27 February 2011

Dear FRS Friend,

At long last Sunday February 27th 2011 the final & 3rd FRS 30th Anniversary broadcast will take place. We will complete the FRS Anthology !
Next Sunday 27th February we will feature the period 1998- 2010. Mind you: we will kick off at already 07.52 UTC=08.52 CET.
In contrast with our previous mail, a change has taken place. 6085 will be on for the complete 6 hours 08-14 UTC. No alternative 48 mb freq will be used.
March 6th could see a repeat of part of the shows lasting 2 or 3 hours.
We are understandably curious to receive your letters and mails. That’s very important for us and that’s the only way in which you can show your respect and interest.

Here’s the schedule:
07.52- 14.00 UTC 7600//5800 kHz
07.52- 14.00 UTC 6085 kHz

Of course we have special QSLs for this broadcast. With the ones issued for the previous two broadcasts, it will form the FRS 30th Anniversary QSL Series.
Hope to have your company on the 27th…it will be great fun: 30 Years of FRS-Holland on SW!

Pirate Radio St Helena

“Although we are all disappointed that Radio St. Helena had to cancel its annual Radio St. Helena Day broadcast on 11,092.5 kHz, I have been informed that there will be a substitute transmission one week later from Pirate Radio St. Helena.

The faux Radio St. Helena plans to operate on the familiar 11092.5 kHz at 2300 UT on Saturday, October 16th. You can contact the station during its program by using the following e-mail address: piratesainthelena @ gmail.com The station is busy building a special dipole antenna designed for just this transmission so reception should be good provided propagation cooperates.

The faux Radio St. Helena is preparing its own special QSL for the occasion. All correct reports will be verified with a special Radio St. Helena Day electronic attachment. Send your report to: piratesainthelena @ gmail.com

Good luck!”

Radio Bluebell

FRS 30 years
2010 is a very special year for all at FRSH: 30 years on the air! We will be celebrating this later in 2010, presumably in October. It is our wish to receive as many personal memories as possible (especially) from dedicated FRS listeners! Most personal is when you record a 1- 2 minute recording (English or German)
with your very own memories: When did you hear us for the first time, what was (is) your favourite show, when did you get your first QSL, how much did you listen to FRS, any special on air moments you remember? All this info will be part of your personal FRS contribution. Any serious contribution will be
rewarded later this year. That is a promise! All listener’s contributions will be collected and together it will be our anthology of 30 years of SW broadcasts along with our very own memories. Btw: if you cannot record a message, please put your contribution on paper (POBox 2702) or send us a mail . It sounds a bit weird but w’d like to receive your contribution as soon as possible. There’s a lot to prepare and having contributions at an early stage really helps… we count on you…an mp3 would be easy, isn’t it?

73s, Peter V. (on behalf of the FRS staff)
