08 Aug 1980 GBR. The Sun Newspaper publishes an article about London free stations. Radio Jackie and Radio Free London get the main part of the article, On Jackie, the programmes are recorded in a garden shed, while on RFL they are recorded in Ken Meyers’ bedroom. The paper describes how an instal up a tower block takes place, and how two car batteries are used to run both the reel-to-reel player and the 92.0 FM rig. John Dawson features in the picture. Other stations mentioned are Radio Utopia, Radio Woodstock and Radio Invicta.
