Pirate Radio Hall of Fame November 2025

The Pirate Radio Hall of Fame has been updated. Back in November 1985, almost forty years ago, Laser-558 ceased transmissions. It was a sad end to a popular radio station. This month we remember its demise in part 5 of The Laser Story; plus there are numerous press cuttings from the time; we salute four former offshore radio people who passed away during October and pay a special tribute to one of them, Tom Edwards. RIP Colin Nichol

Following the sad news of the death of Tom Edwards, I am afraid I have just heard that another well-remembered former pirate has left us. Colin Nichol passed away yesterday (28/10/25) in Perth, Western Australia at Fiona Stanley Hospital after a short illness, battling pancreatic cancer. RIP Colin.

Summermeeting 2026 4. July 2026

Hier bij wil ik jullie laten weten dat de Sunmmermeeting 04-Juli -2026 zal worden georganiseerd . Het zal op de bekende locatie zijn bij ons thuis de prijs van de BBQ laat ik nog weten. En het zal ook tevens de laatste zijn die het swcholland team zal organiseren .
Ich möchte euch mitteilen, dass das Sunmmermeeting am 4. Juli 2026 stattfinden wird. Es wird an unserem gewohnten Ort zu Hause stattfinden, aber den Preis für das BBQ werde ich euch später mitteilen. *Es wird auch das letzte sein, das vom swholland-Team organisiert wird.*
I’d like to let you know that the Sunmmermeeting will be held on July 4, 2026. It will be at our usual location at home, but I’ll let you know the price of the BBQ later. It will also be the last one organized by the swholland team.

RIP Tom Edwards

This evening we lost a much loved broadcaster and British radio presenter known for his work on pirate radio stations Radio City and Radio Caroline in the 1960s, as well as his later career with BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, and various television networks. It was an absolute pleasure to accompany Tom on the Waverley Paddle Steamer last year to reunite him with Shivering Sands Fort – the home of Radio City.

2. Hörertreffen Radio Northsea International 28. März 2026

Das 2. Hörertreffen von Radio Northsea International und der SATzentrale findet in Sörnewitz (01640 Coswig) statt.
Alle Hörerinnen und Hörer, Freunde und Unterstützer sind herzlich eingeladen, diesen besonderen Tag gemeinsam zu erleben.
Im Januar 2026 folgen dann alle weiteren Infos – etwa zu Programm, Ablauf und Anmeldung.
Wer dabei sein möchte, sollte sich den Termin jetzt schon im Kalender vormerken!

Es erwarten euch spannende Neuigkeiten, interessante Vorstellungen, Begegnungen mit den Moderatoren und natürlich viel Raum für Austausch und Gespräche unter Gleichgesinnten.
