The offshore radio station Radio London started full broadcasting on 23
December 1964 on a wavelength approximately equivalent to 266 metres, actually 1129 kHz which, strictly speaking, was off channel. This became the UK’s most powerful offshore station, claiming 75 kW at its peak in 1966/7.
