1 Apr. 1976 GBR. Rowridge. Isle of Wight. The BBC Radio 1 transmitter gets pirate attention, when the remote transmitter’s programmes are hijacked and banned records are played. To this day, no one has claimed responsibility…
1 Apr. 1979 FIN. 6225 kHz SW. Radio Sound of Finland starts broadcasts, with 15 watts, Sunday mornings. Some programmes are mobile, and others relayed on 1332 kHz from the Nederlands. Most of the shows are dance music with DJ Roger. The station is to later get a 100-watt rig.
