9 Apr. 1989 GBR. Saltash. 1494 kHz MW. Radio Argus Plymouth starts broadcasts, using the retuned former low powered 1503 kHz rig. It is largely a station running on taped shows provided by the Cornish staff as the links do not reach far enough for live shows. While a proper site is being looked for, the broadcasts come from Saltash, Cornwall, with a dodgy antenna strung between some apple trees, meaning as much of the signal is heard in Saltash as in Plymouth!
