12 Apr. 1974. FIN. 6235 kHz SW. Radio Gambina starts broadcasts; using a vfo rig. Due to post office activity the station is to also use the name Radio 240.
14 Apr. 1986.
* GBR. Penzance, Cornwall. Cornish Soul Radio is raided. It is to later re-appear as Impact Radio.
* GBR. London. RFM team meet ‘Paul’ who works for the I.B.A.
15 Apr. 1986 GBR. Camborne. 103.0 FM Radio Argus re-starts broadcasts, a few hours weekday evenings, and longer at weekends, from Simon’s place.
16 Apr. 1984 GBR. The Sun newspaper has an article today mentioning Home Office officials raiding Radio KFM in Stockport yesterday, three directors were cautioned and a transmitter confiscated worth £750.
16 Apr. 1989 NED. Free Radio Service Holland (FRSH) returns to the air, with their own rig, a modified 20w rig – frequency not known at this time.
18 Apr. 1976 GBR. London. 94.2 FM. Radio Invicta is on air this Bank Holiday
18 Apr. 1984 GBR. Merseyside. 1026 kHz 292m MW Storeton Community Radio is on air with a lunchtime programme with Steve Sound followed by Paul Woods. The station has changed frequency, and with it the harmonic on SW is no longer noted.
20 Apr. 1983 IRL. Co Clare. 96.2 FM. Ennis Local Radio is noted today with a John Roche show.
21 Apr. 1984 GBR. London. 103.8 FM. DBC is noted for the last time on this frequency today, ED features.
22 Apr. 1979 GBR. Liverpool. 1395 kHz MW. Following more raids, Radio Free Liverpool only broadcasts Sundays for now
22 Apr. 1987 GBR. London. 94.3 FM. RFM now has a permanent install at the tower blocks near the Bakers Arms in Leyton.
23 Apr. 1978 GBR. 6270 or 6275 kHz SW. Radio Zodiac International is on air today, with Roger Vosene, Dave Hunt and Stuart Clarke
24 Apr. 1988 GBR. Colchester. In its first broadcast since the move, Freedom Overflow returns on 94.8 mHz FM, as the rig would not tune elsewhere. The shows had all been pre-recorded, though on 93.9 mHz FM! Just to confuse issues further, the title of today’s programmes is ‘The Mobile Radio Party’ claiming to be broadcast from a moving Suzuki Motorbike! Some listeners believe it!
26 Apr. 1975 GBR. London. 92.8 FM. Sun Radio is on air today. Steve Most has the last show, finishing 21:56
26 Apr. 1987 ???. 6293 Pirate Freaks Broadcasting Service is noted today
27 Apr. 1975 FIN. 6249.5 kHz SW. Radio Urbino starts broadcasting.
27 Apr. 1980 GBR. Scotland. Weekend Music Radio [WMR] starts broadcasting today

28 Apr. 1974 GBR. SW London. 1320 kHz MW. Radio Jackie is noted today, Mike Knight closing down for the day
28 Apr. 1986 GBR. London. RFM blow up their rig trying to cure sprogs.
30 Apr. 1978 GBR. SW London. 1331 kHz MW. Radio Jackie is on air today with a show by Tony Bond noted
