Italian (?) pirate on former AWR frequency

A pirate signal is currently (11:00 utc, Nov. 1st) transmitting on 9610 kHz, former Nauen frequency used by AWR Italia each Sunday @ 11 hours local time when airing “Obiettivo DX”, the Italian language DX program. TDoA analysis conducted via kiwiSDR hosts in Europe gave only a consistent result, indicating an area centered on the southern regions of Apulia and Basilicata, but that doesn’t seem enough to point at single, reliable location.

Ironically, the unauthorized broadcast is relaying the online stream from Radio Voce della Speranza (RVS), the small FM/DAB network of the Italian Adventist church…

AWR’s decision to cancel its non-Guam programming, including Obiettivo DX, sparked a lively discussion among members of Obiettivo DX Facebook page.
