Time to expand some activity. We have planned a full almost 6 hour broadcast upcoming Sunday October 28th.
In preparation to that, we tested on 7600 kHz Sunday October 14th. Although conditions weren’t satisfactory, results were
satisfactory and we are confident next Sunday a good signal will be aired over the European air waves.

FRS News #36 is all about our 30th anniversary. In contains no less than 24 pages in colour. In the past months FRS-Holland has been working very hard to

Radio Mercur Revival streams online today

Many will have seen this on various boards, also just posted in Hans Knot’s latest report:

If you haven’t yet anything booked for July 31 you are very welcome to join us at the Radio Mercur Revival Day in Dragör, Denmark on July 31st . A number of former Radio Mercur staff members will be gathering at the Dragör Museum where there is a 1950s exhibition and there will be broadcasts of Radio Mercur during the day from 0600 to 2400 local time/CET (0400 to 2200 UTC/GMT). Apart from old Radio Mercur recordings there will also be live broadcasts from the museum.

The programmes will be broadcast over a temporary transmitter operating on 99.4 MHz on top of the SAS Radisson Hotel in Copenhagen – one of the highest buildings in the city. It is also possible to listen via our web streams which will be announced on www.scandinavianoffshoreradio.com before we start.

I have just checked the site and the streams came online today.

The Swedish Radio Archive site has an excellent page with lots of audio on Radio Mercur, indeed the whole site is worth exploring.

Radio 6150 needs you

We need YOU!!!

Don’t be worried, we do not have your money in mind… 🙂

As we told you before, we want to start our new station on 6070 kHz in
August with definitely higher power. Then reception, at least in Europe,
should be good, even with normal receivers. We are on plan to establish
a service 24/7, esp. during night time filled up with old recordings from
the offshore area, but of course with a lot of own, new program, too.
Because we do not have the money to hire a staff for this, we are looking
for some friends of independent radio, who would like to spend some time
working for our station; e.g. we have in mind concerning the following
tasks in German, and/or English, Dutch….:

–Producing your own program,
—concerning: music, reports, or…??

–Producing a DX-program on a regular basis
—and / or delivery of the news to the one, who does the show

–do you have old recordings of Offshore / Pirate Radio, you can supply us
with? Or present it in your own show?

–analysis of reception reports; writing QSLs via eMail to the listeners

–help maintaining the homepage, esp. translation of German texts to English,
or German / English to Dutch, and maybe other languages spoken in
our reception area; Spanish? Russian? …???

–Producing jingles in any language of our listeners

–acquisition of commercials for our program
–acquisition of interested parties in buying time on our transmitter for
their own program
(we would be glad, if it would pay at least the energy costs…)

–or do you have ideas of your own, what you would like to do for our station?
Then please get in contact with us!

Keep 3905 Khz and 4890 Khz free

Papua New Guinea has been reactivated using 3905 Khz and 4890 Khz. Best chance to hear them is at around 1900 Utc till 2030 Utc.

On german A-DX there is a discussion on blocking Papua New Guinea by pirate radio stations. One proposal was to inform the authorities about these pirate radio stations.

So please keep away from 3905 Khz and 4890 Khz at european evenings.
