Bob Le-Roi website closed

Sad news from Bob Le-Roi: Dear Website followers and listeners, Bob here with an important message
As you may know, for many years I have provided an historical broadcast website, majoring on the Offshore Forts where I began my career, together with local interest features, personal pages and general info old and new. However, it’s with a heavy heart and sadness, I have to announce the closure of my website
Since constructed over two decades ago technology has moved on a pace, leaving my site built in outdated code vulnerable to abuse
The site was recently compromised from overseas with more serious follow on implications. Having carefully considered rewriting in modern certified code, the task is too arduous and cost prohibitive to contemplate to continue on a regular basis
Most things have a life expectancy. Luckily my good friend Hans Knot’s two monthly round-up and Jon Myer’s Pirate Hall of Fame, will continue to fly the flag
Happily, the decision to close the site has no impact on my popular weekly ‘Bob’s 60’s Splash’ programme which continues around the world, so please continue your support and regular feedback
Finally, in closing, I would like to thank you for all your contributions and support of the website over the years, and as I say in each weeks programme

Offshore Radio Nostalgia – A kaleidoscope of the Watery Wireless era

Im Dezember 1996 ist zum ersten Male meine Webseite „Offshore Radio Links“ in Netz gegangen. Wenige Jahre später wurde daruas der „Offshore Radio Guide“ (offshore-radio.de). In den vergangenen 27 Jahren kamen nach und nach dann noch hansknot.com, radioday.nl, seesender.de, radiocaroline.de und broadcasting-fleet.com hinzu.
Nun wird es Zeit für ein moderneres Layout und vor allem auch eine Entschlackung der verschiedenen Seiten. Ab sofort steht die neue Internet-Plattform

im Netz. Dort finden sich hunderte Artikel von Hans Knot, interessante Neuigkeiten, Beiträge und Links sowie der Zugang zu 30.000 Fotos und zahlreichen Videos.
