CROWDFUNDER UPDATE: Message from station manager Peter Moore

CROWDFUNDER UPDATE: Message from station manager Peter Moore
Our Crowdfunder Campaign to raise funds for the Ross Revenge Dry Dock Appeal has now ended. A huge Thank You! to everyone who donated. Your support and generosity are very much appreciated.
Crowdfunder is just one income source for our charity appeal. We were hoping in total to raise Β£125k. At this time our charity funds stand at around Β£131k – which is excellent. We can now look at outside funding and grants.
There is no upper limit as to what could be spent on Ross Revenge. Fundraising for the ship has not ended but we have completed the first phase. Now patrons will be sought to advise us according to their specialised skills. Ross Revenge is on the National Historic Ships Register and while this organisation does not allocate funds, it will direct us and educate us where to seek Heritage or Commercial support.
We do note that the retired excursion steamer TS Queen Mary which lay derelict alongside side us in Tilbury Dock has now raised Β£3 million, such that the Trust that owns her and who previously thought to keep her on static display are now planning to make her a fully operational ship again. Bearing in mind that Queen Mary had her engines and boilers removed and scrapped decades ago and that she was not built for heavy duty service, this makes our own task less daunting.

So… On This Day. June 20th.

Hello everyone. On This Day is a bit later than usual as Bill Lyons has been doing a lot of digging and emailing me, and incorporating a text file into a word document can be time consuming, but another big chunk of Argus history is at least in two places now, and more will hopefully follow.
So… On This Day. June 20th.
20 Jun. 1982 NED. Free Radio Service Holland [FRSH] is on air today. [it is not confirmed whether this is on 7315 or 7325 kHz SW], due to conditions the signal reaches longer than usual distances, but is not receivable in the usual areas closer to the site.
20 Jun. 1983 GBR Twickenham. 1503 kHz MW. On air 7 days a week, Sovereign Radio is on air today
20 Jun. 1984
+ GBR. SW London. 1332 kHz MW. On air 7 days a week, Radio Jackie is on air today
+ GBR. SE London. 1413 kHz and 90.2 FM. Skyline Radio is on air today 06:00-00:00

+ GBR. London. 102.5 FM. Horizon Radio is on air 7 days a week
+ GBR. London. 102.8 FM. JFM is on air 7 days a week
20 Jun. 1989
+ GBR Saltash. 1494 kHz MW. Radio Argus Plymouth is on air today with taped shows 06:00-10:00 and 15:00-19:00 [this was a low powered idea with an aerial slung between a couple of apple trees, and was heard more in Saltash than Plymouth]
+ GBR Cornwall. 1503 kHz MW. [St Ives], 1602 kHz MW [Camborne] and 102.8 FM [St Agnes] via a link system from Camborne, Radio Argus Cornwall is on air today
+ GBR. Bromley. 1611 kHz MW. Radio Argus London is on air this evening
and that’s it for today unless something has been missed? Please let me know πŸ™‚
Regards,
Bert
